It's been a minute

An update on the state of things.

Hey there..! 👋

It’s been a minute, uh? I’ve been busy with… well… life I guess.

A lot has happened in the last 3 months since my first blog post. It’s been a little bit all over the place 🙃

I’ve updated the website’s look and some “under the hood” stuff like directory changes and README.md updates.

I’ve been setting up linux on my old laptop that was still running windows 10, started designing some HW and am looking for a job.

It’s also my birthday in a couple weeks so I’ve been busy with that.

Oh by the way, have I mentioned that Forza Horizon 6 came out? That’s been a time sink…

Where we’re at

  • Website: Right now I’m trying to polish up the website and have a decent version I’m happy with to officially launch it. Maybe get a few ongoing projects in and some more blogposts. Also making sure the design is right and there are no AI loose-ends (weird things AI does sometimes, you know what I’m talking about).

  • Linux Laptop: I’m now on EndeavourOS, which is Arch and you know what that means. Hours installing and debugging stuff! I’ve been mostly working on this in the evenings while sitting on the sofa “watching” something. I’ve setup rclone to sync my google drive and use it with Joplin and Obsidian. I’ll probably write a full blogpost about it later.

  • HW Design: I don’t want to say much about this for now. It’s gonna be a short, cool project. It involves NFC and LEDs, that’s all I’ll say :P

Up Next

Hopefully I can launch the website by the end of the month. It’d be a nice birthday present to myself.

The laptop is pretty much an always work in progress, but it’s useable now so it’ll just be installing stuff as I use it. Next steps will be to get my work tools in there, like and IDE and maybe Claude another AI agent so I can work on the website remotely.

I’m excited for the HW Design. It’s something I’ve been wanting to do for a while now and it should be a quick little project. Yes, I’ve worked in product for over 7 years now, I know HW is never fast. Let a man dream!
